Amazon is planning to open an international fulfillment center in the United States by the end of 2019.
The Seattle-based e-commerce giant is expected to begin shipping products to the city within two years, according to Recode.
The facility, dubbed Amazon International, will be located in Kansas City, Kansas, which is just east of Kansas City International Airport, according the Seattle Times.
The facility will employ about 150 people.
Amazon has a presence in more than 150 countries.
The company is also planning to expand its fulfillment centers in the UK and Canada, as well as expand to Mexico, Australia and South Africa.
Amazon’s move into the United Kingdom is a significant one for the tech giant, which has historically relied on shipping to the UK.
The US has been the Amazon’s biggest market, with the company operating in a variety of markets including Canada, the UK, India and Mexico.
