Football Italian understands that the top three clubs in Serie A are currently fighting for the league title and are set to make a strong push to qualify for the Champions League.
It is expected that, with a few weeks of the new season remaining, both AC Milan and Juventus will enter the competition with renewed confidence.
It has also been suggested that Roma could be forced to make another dramatic move to secure a Champions League place.
However, the best bet for the three clubs is probably to remain in Serie B and hope to be in the running for the Europa League.
Milan, Roma and Inter Milan all play in the second division and are likely to be promoted to the top flight once their seasons are finished.
Inter Milan are currently second and Roma are fourth, so they could be in a similar situation to how they finished last season, when they missed out on the Champions and Europa Leagues.
Juventus and AC Milan are the three Serie B teams that could qualify for Champions League next season, but it is believed that they are not going to be relegated next season.
It remains to be seen whether that will be a realistic option for either of them, although Inter Milan’s struggles could see them fall out of the competition.
