Beijing: China has grown its GDP by 3.6 trillion yuan to 3,983 trillion yuan ($3.9tn), the central bank said on Friday.

The economy shrank 3.2 trillion yuan or 0.3 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier to 3.,782 trillion yuan, the official Xinhua news agency said, adding that the growth rate was “below the trend” and that the economic slowdown had widened in the second quarter.

The official Xinhuang News Agency reported that growth had picked up in the third quarter.
